I use different mediums, oil , gouache and watercolor. I am interested in how perception shapes who we are and how we see each other and the world and how art influences those perceptions

I enjoy hiking, bicycling and traveling in my spare time and many of my pieces are directly influenced by these experiences in nature and within other cultures.

The joy of the wind, sun ,and salt spray, the challenge of capturing shifting light and the movement of time and tides, the curious nature of color, value and temperature all combine in capturing a moment in time, of transforming the one dimensional board into a three dimensional image. That is only part of the magic of plen aire painting.

Always attracted to the arts I first saw myself as an appreciator and booster of fine artists. As an academic, I supported the arts and art endeavors of faculty and students.
For many years I was self taught and later trained and mentored by wonderful established Cape Cod Artists.
I have come to understand that the arts and being an artist is a never-ending process of practice, self discovery and exploration of one's vision and the various media. As time and experience moved me I have developed a deep appreciation for the creative arts and the opportunity it holds to express oneself and to move disrupt, inform, and sometimes even sooth the viewer.
